Privacy policy

Men in Sheds MK. Last updated 1 October 2026.

Men in Sheds MK is a registered charity in England, number 1156425. This policy explains what personal information this website collects and how we use it. We are the data controller for that information.

Information we collect

If you use the contact form, we receive the details you type in, such as your name, email address, telephone number and message. You can also contact us by telephone on 01908 267126 or through our Facebook page. We keep those messages so we can reply.

The website host records ordinary technical information when someone visits a page, such as the browser type and the address of the page requested. We use that to keep the site working and to deal with misuse. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

If you are a member and sign in to a members’ area, the site stores the login details needed to keep you signed in.

Why we use it

We use contact details to answer enquiries about joining, visiting, projects, commissions, donations and anything else you ask us about. That is part of running the charity. We keep a message for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and then we delete it.

Who else sees it

Messages from the contact form are stored on this website and emailed to the volunteers who handle enquiries. Our website is hosted so the host processes that information on our behalf, only to provide the site. We do not pass your details to other organisations for their own marketing.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a site can store on your device. This site uses only what it needs to operate, for example to keep a logged-in member signed in or to remember that a contact form was sent. You can block cookies in your browser. Blocking them can stop the members’ area and the contact form from working properly.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it when we no longer need it for the enquiry. Contact us through the contact page or on 01908 267126. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
